The Indian Super League (ISL) kicked off with great fanfare last night as the inaugural match between Atletico de Kolkata and Mumbai City FC rolled into action amidst much excitement and anticipation among football enthusiasts across the country.

As expected, Bollywood's biggest names were out in full force to add glamour to the opening ceremony of India's own version of Europe's top league. A-listers like supermodel-actress Priyanka Chopra and former cricketer Sourav Ganguly also made appearances at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here.

However, it was none other than Southern heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan who hogged all the limelight with his usual wit and charm as he officially unveiled the ISL trophy. The King of Bollywood surely did not disappoint his fans when asked about why they should watch Indian football now!

Other notable guests present at this grand event included cricketers Sunil Chhetri, Sandip Patil among others who were all decked up in their respective team jerseys.

The theme song for the league titled 'Let's Football' perfectly captured the mood and energy of what is expected from this exciting tournament which promises plenty action packed games over its course.
